What landlords should review before a new tenancy

A new tenancy is a good moment to check that your property, paperwork, and expectations are in order. Here is what we review with landlords before every move-in.

Between tenancies, a property can be inspected, refreshed, and documented properly. That work protects both the landlord and the incoming tenant.

Safety and compliance

Confirm that gas safety, electrical, and smoke alarm checks are current, and that the energy performance certificate meets the required standard.

Condition and inventory

A detailed, photographed inventory makes check-out simpler and fairer. It is worth updating it after any redecoration or replacement furniture.

Clear expectations

Agree how maintenance requests will be reported and handled. Tenants who know who to call, and how quickly to expect a response, tend to stay longer.
